Aviation Tech Program Hosting Career Fair Amid Workforce Shortage Crisis

Discover potential career opportunities in the aviation industry at Pima Aviation Technology Program career fair

The aviation industry is facing a significant workforce gap due to the high demand for skilled workers. This gap was exacerbated by the retirement of many individuals during and before the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, Pima Community College’s Aviation Technology Program in Tucson, Arizona is hosting a career fair and open house to meet this demand.

The career fair will be held on Tuesday, March 26th from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Aviation Technology Center near Valencia Rd. and Park Ave. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and interview with local and national aviation employers, interact with Pima’s top instructors and students, and take a tour of the hangar.

Faculty instructor Chris Barnett emphasizes that there is currently a high demand for workers in the aviation industry. He notes that many individuals retired before and during COVID, creating a significant gap in the workforce. As a result, the demand for skilled workers in the aviation field is expected to persist for the foreseeable future.
