Baltimore Bridge Collapse: One Man’s Narrow Escape from Disaster

In Baltimore, the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed Tuesday morning after a ship crashed into it. Six construction workers are presumed dead in the incident, which occurred around 1:30 a.m.

One resident of the city, Jayden, narrowly avoided being on the bridge at the time of the collapse. He had initially planned to stay overnight at his girlfriend’s home on the north side of the river but after an argument, he crossed the bridge back home. Feeling guilty about the argument, he crossed the bridge again but was sent back by his girlfriend. Just three minutes later, as he was crossing for a third time, the bridge collapsed.
