Expanding Horizons: San Antonio’s Clarity Child Guidance Center Opens New Pediatric Mental Health Facility

New inpatient pediatric mental health facility now available for patients

The Clarity Child Guidance Center recently opened a new in-patient facility on the Northeast Side of San Antonio that is dedicated to pediatric mental health patients. The facility, called the Methodist Healthcare Ministries Living Unit, includes an eight-room pediatric psychiatric intensive care unit that caters to children between the ages of three and 17 who are in need of mental health services.

The new facility features private rooms, a secure courtyard, and ample space for children to receive the care they need. The expansion project was initiated in response to the growing demand for child mental health services, particularly in light of the challenges posed by the pandemic. In addition to the new ICU, the facility also boasts a newly renovated kitchen, which was made possible by the Heroes Campaign that raised $7 million for the project.

This new facility is a significant step towards addressing the mental health needs of pediatric patients in the San Antonio area. The Clarity Child Guidance Center is committed to providing high-quality care and support to children and adolescents struggling with mental health issues. By expanding their services and facilities, they are better equipped to meet the growing demand for pediatric mental health care in the community.
