Former NFL Quarterback Vince Young Involved in Bar Fight: What Happened and How It Was Handled

Ex-NFL Quarterback Vince Young Engages in Altercation at Houston Bar

In February, a viral video captured former NFL quarterback and UT alum Vince Young involved in a bar fight at Tokyo Joe’s in Houston. The footage showed Young arguing with a group of people before things escalated with more individuals approaching and getting in his face. One person threw a drink, leading to a scuffle that intensified further.

Young was punched by one of the men involved in the fight, causing him to briefly fall to the ground before getting back up. Despite the Houston Police Department reporting the incident on Feb. 4 around 10 p.m., staff members from the bar called 911 to report the altercation. However, the manager did not want to press charges and only sought to document the incident.

Vince Young is a standout football player who played for UT from 2002 to 2004 and is considered one of the school’s most celebrated former athletes. He had a successful career in the NFL, where he was the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 2005 and played six seasons in the league. Despite this unfortunate incident, his legacy as a talented athlete remains intact.
