Get Ready for the Total Solar Eclipse at Kentucky Science Center: A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience!

Kentucky Science Center hosts exclusive solar eclipse event

The Kentucky Science Center is hosting a special event for the upcoming solar eclipse at their Main Street location. This unique experience will take place on April 8th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Guests attending the event will have access to all the Kentucky Science Center’s activities across 50,000 square feet of space. Special programming will be stationed throughout the galleries, including educational sessions on the eclipse, eclipse-viewing safety, gravity, cultural interpretations of eclipses and constellations, and the chance to view the partial eclipse.

Activities during the event will include creating pinhole cameras, streaming live coverage of the eclipse from NASA, and educational programs about gravity and UV rays. Guests can also choose to attend documentary screenings of Journey to Space 3-D, a film about NASA’s Space Shuttle program and the International Space Station.

Chief Executive Officer of the Kentucky Science Center, Mike Norman, expressed excitement for the event, calling it a once-in-20-years phenomenon. The event is made possible in part by a NASA Kentucky Space Grant. The Kentucky Science Center is located at 727 W. Main Street and is open seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with free admission for guests during this special occasion
