Join the Signs of the Seasons Citizen Science Project: Free Workshops and Webinars in Maine

‘Schedule of Citizen Science Trainings for Seasonal Signs’

Next week, the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and Maine Sea Grant are hosting a series of workshops for citizens interested in joining the Signs of the Seasons citizen science project. This statewide initiative aims to identify and record seasonal changes in over 20 indicator species including milkweed, butterflies, and loons that play a crucial role in understanding Maine’s changing climate.

Those interested can choose from two in-person training sessions: one on April 4 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Stimpson’s Point in Brunswick or another on April 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth. For those unable to attend in person, a 3-part webinar series will also be available starting on April 7th at extension.umaine.edu/signs-of-the-seasons/training .

The workshops are free of charge, but registration is mandatory for those who want to participate
