Torry from WSJ to report on Western U.S. economy

Harriet Torry, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, has been assigned to cover the Western U.S. economy from Houston, Texas. She has a 14-year tenure with the Journal and previously focused on consumers in her coverage of the U.S. economy from the Washington, D.C., bureau. Before this, Torry covered the Federal Reserve and has experience working at Deutsche Welle in Frankfurt as a financial reporter and covering the German government and economy during the eurozone sovereign debt crisis in Berlin.

Chris Roush is an experienced business journalist who has held various positions at Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune, and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is also an author of two books “Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication” and “Thinking Things Over,” a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster. Roush previously served as the Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill.
