Rory McIlroy Welcomes Shane Lowry to Zurich Classic: A New Era of Golf Teamwork.

McIlroy and Lowry to join forces at Zurich Classic of New Orleans

Shane Lowry, a fellow European Ryder Cup teammate, will be joining Rory McIlroy at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans. This will be McIlroy’s first appearance at the event, which switched to a two-man team format in 2017. The Zurich Classic is scheduled to take place from April 25-28 at TPC Louisiana, just a week after the RBC Heritage.

McIlroy has already played seven times in 2024, including two starts on the DP World Tour, which is two more worldwide starts than he had at this point last year. He could be playing in his fourth consecutive tournament, following the Valero Texas Open, the Masters, and the event at Harbour Town. However, this will be his first time playing in New Orleans.

Lowry has participated in the Zurich Classic three times, with his most recent appearance in 2022 alongside Ian Poulter, where they finished 13th. He has also played seven times this year, including a recent appearance at the Porsche Singapore Classic on the DP World Tour, where he tied for 29th. This will be his second time partnering with McIlroy in an event.
